converting aup files to mp3

How is it done? I have a TAPE2USB unit and all that I have saved is in aup format. How can I convert them to mps files, or can aup files be burned on to CD's using Windows Media Player?

Converting aup files to mp3

Jumping in to answer some questions for folks who are looking for the same information.
aup files are audacity project files, this is what you get when you 'save' in Audacity. To get a file in a format you can use outside of Audacity, you will need to 'export' the file, wav is an audio file that comes with Audacity, if you would like to save as an MP3, there is a plug in you can download at http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/plugins . You can also export the wav and convert to MP3 in your itunes account.
