Error Message for recording

As anyone encountered the error message "Error while opening sound device. Please check the input device settings and the project sample rate. I was recording albums and then all of a sudden this message pops up. It had been recording just find. I restarted the pc but it did not work. I reinstalled audacity. Still nothing. I checked the sample rate and devices. Nothing. Can any one help?
