GDI-IRDT200 - Tuner; unable to connect using wired connection

Purcased GDI-IRDT200 Tuner which was delivered yesterday. Connected to router ethernet cable. When power turned on initially receive message that the unit is unplugged, however, it is firmly connected to both the router and the back of the Tuner. The lights on the for the connection port flash periodically indicating that there is some communication between the Tuner and the router.
After a few minutes I receive a message that is is connecting to the internet which continues for several minutes. The message then changes to "Time out getting IP address."
I tried the steps suggested in the "Troubleshooting guide" but to no avail.
Has anyone experienced similar difficulties in attempting to the internet?
Is there a solution?
