iphone app presets
No, we were creating an app for all our radios. Most which only include 10. So to show 99 presets would be a negative thing for the majority of our customers.
Presets - iApp has fewer than radio remote for no good reason
That's a ridiculous decision - to take away functionality from those who could use it because not everyone can? Bad, bad decision.
We're all quite used to having limited functionality in various software products - WHEN WE DIDN'T PURCHASE THAT ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONALITY! We all use freebie software that doesn't give us all the bells and whistles of the paid version, and we often have to put up with nagging reminders that "if only we would purchase the full version..." Yes, this software is free (for now), but it's useless without having first invested in your hardware, and you're punishing your customers who purchased more flexible hardware by forcing them to forego that flexibility in order to use the iApp.
Not only that, but you're also passing up the opportunity to encourage your other customers to upgrade their hardware. If I were one of those who had one of the radios with only 10 presets, and my iPhone app was a constant reminder that I could also have 99 presets if only I upgraded my radio - I might very well be apt to purchase another radio from you!
Let's get real here... you could easily allow those of us who could use them, to keep adding stations to the list, while those who can't access more than 10 would see their list end at 10. Come on, tens of thousands of stations available and we can only call up 10 of them without going thru the painful alternative? I keep my radio upstairs, connected to my stereo receiver that feeds my whole-house audio system, so it was great to find this app that allows me to control the radio from anywhere in the house. But then to find that it's been purposely handicapped - that blows big time. And it's been handicapped so as to not cause anxiety among those who can't take full advantage???
Bad decision. Customer-unfriendly decision. Stupid decision.
