Unable to select menu

I was listening to a radio station on my new GDI-IR1000. I was switching stations using the app on my iPod touch. When I pressed the big select knob on the radio to bring up the menu, nothing happened. I had to pull the power to reset the device. When the radio came back up, I was able to access the menu.
