RE: White Noise
Well, I'm not sure what Grace Digital Turntable you are using but one thing you might try is to increase the input recording level with the recording software you are using. If you are using Audacity they are located on the top left portion of the window. That might help reducing the amount of white noise you hear when recording.
It is possible that the needle sent along with the turntable is defective and you may need to call Grace and ask them to send you a new one.

I was able to clean up a lot of the noise on the recording by using EFFECT from the tool bar and then REMOVE NOISE. Had to do a little experimenting but got a nice sound off a 30+ year old album. Saved the original recording in Audicity format and once it sounded good, saved it as a .wav.
