Q: Does the Tunewriter III record from cassette to CD's?

A: NO. The Tunewriter III can not record from cassettes, vinyl, or from the aux input to CD's. The Tunewriter III records to your PC or MAC.

Q: Does the Victoria Tunewriter III record to digital music files I can use on my computer?

A:Yes. Using the included Audacity Sound Editing software, the Tunewriter III can record to various digital music formats such as WAV & MP3. Once your music is recorded in a digital music format you can use the music files with programs such as iTunes™ & Windows Media Player™ to listen your music.

Plug your GDI-TW3USB into a power outlet. Connect the USB cord from the unit to your computer. Turn on the unit using the Volume knob and power on your computer. Insert the Audacity CD and install on your computer. Once installed, open Audacity on your computer. On your TW3USB, use the buttons on the front panel to select the audio source (PHONO, TAPE, etc.) you wish to record. Ready your album or tape and start to play. At the same time, on your computer press the Audacity RECORD button on the Audacity interface to begin recording. Once you have completed recording your audio, press the Audacity STOP button on the Audacity interface. On your computer, click on File at the top of the Audacity interface, scroll to EXPORT (save) and select to save the recorded file to the desired location on your computer. Once saved (Exported) to your computer, you can move the file to Windows Media Player or iTunes for use as an MP3 audio file or burn to a CD.
